lazy river

Connor and I loved the lazy river pool which was at our vacation spot last summer. I chose to highlight that on this page using some older Crate Paper. This is another layout completed for the Let's Get Sketchy blog hop! That is three done!!!

Along with this sketch, the requirement was to choose 2 techniques from a list and use them on your layout. I added layering and inking to this pages!!

Thanks for poppin' in! I hope that you will play along. The hop has been extended until March 8th, 2014!!

Challenge #3 Vintage or Retro Style at Craft Hoarders Anonymous

Graphic 45 is our sponsor this month, so let's see what you can make in a vintage or retro style. Do you hoard lace or vintage hat pins? Do you snap up all the postcards at yard sales? Do you love mid-century modern? Do you long for avocado appliances and orange shag carpets? Show your vintage or retro spin on a paper crafting project.

Here is a little bit about our sponsor: Graphic 45 is an award-winning scrapbook and paper crafting company— owned and operated by a mother (Diane Schultz) and her two daughters (Aimee and Charee Filimoehala). Together they create vintage inspired crafting products that capture the flamboyant style of the 1920's and 30's - with vibrant color, irresistible texture and imaginative design to create products with decades-old appeal that's both fresh and familiar. Let our products inspire your next scrapbook layout, card, album or home decor project. Please visit the Graphic 45 Website or Facebook page for more information

Don't let this challenge scare you away!! If you are anything like me, I always thought that vintage or retro was never my style, but I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled out these Graphic 45 papers and started creating!! The colors and designs were so fun to work with!!

I paper pieced a flower using a punch and my scraps to replicate the flowers in the patterned paper!

I challenge you to get your vintage / retro on and play along with this challenge!! You may just find yourself pleasantly surprised like I did!! You could also be our lucky winner of this awesome prize pack from Graphic 45...
