Movie Night!

Have you seen the Simple Stories collection, "Say Cheese?" When it came out a few months ago, it was so popular by scrapbookers wanting to use it for their Disney photos. I loved it just as much as them but I had a problem...I haven't been to Disney. Since I got this line I have been hoarding it and waiting to come up with a good idea to use it. Now I have!! I snapped this picture of my friends on a scrapbook getaway a year or so ago when we were getting ready to watch a movie in our very own "rented" theater room. Some of the papers and embellishments just worked so well when I put this page together.

I got inspiration for this page from a sketch challenge at Stick it Down. Too bad I missed the deadline by a couple of hours :(

Thanks for stopping by!!

Some weekend scrapping...

I have had a little time to play with paper both today and yesterday!! So thankful my husband supports this hobby of mine! This first layout I created off of a sketch from sketch n scrap! I also was challenged by my scrapbook group to create a Now & Then layout and at My Scraps & More I was inspired by Missy's Word Up challenge to use the word "crazy" on my page!

Yesterday I created another Now & Then layout of my kids coloring Easter eggs based on a sketch at Let's Get Sketchy!

I hope you have gotten some time to play this weekend too!!!

Mixing a couple different lines...

I just received this new collection from Echo Park, "That's my Boy"! Can I say LOVE!! I think that I am going to have to get me some more because I can see myself reaching for this collection again and again and again!! I started off playing with a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy but the page kind of took a life of its own. Hopefully you can still see that I got my inspiration from their fun sketch!! After I got most of this page put together, it just needed something. I sat and stared at it, looked at the sticker sheets that are part of the collection, but got nothing. All of a sudden I got an aha moment and thought of the Simple Stories "Smarty Pant's" line so I pulled that out...these two lines work so well together! Don't ya love when that happens??!! I usually just stick to one line on all of my pages so this was fun to mix it up a bit!!

I hid the journaling on the bingo card stuck behind the photo.

I used a Simple Stories Snap 3x4 card and cut it apart to create these three die cuts! I added some string to make them stand out a little more.

and enamel dots! I love those things!!

If you are interested, both of these collections can be purchased right now at My Scraps & More!! Thanks so much for taking a peek of what I have been up too!!

Do you Believe in the Magic of Christmas?

After this past Christmas I am pretty sure that my son, Connor, does! For months, I mean literally months, he has been talking non-stop about the X-Box One. That is all that he wanted for Christmas. One day he even told me that if he didn't get that, he wouldn't even have a Christmas because that is all that he wanted! I knew he would love this gift so I pre-ordered it months ago but of course, like the good Mom that I am, I couldn't tell him that I gotten it for him! I had to torture him ( and myself because I had to keep hearing about it daily) and tell him that I was having a hard time finding it anywhere because they were all sold out! HA!! It was so worth it on Christmas morning when he ripped open this present!! And yes...he LOVES it!!!
I was inspired to create this page by the color challenge here on Kelly's page, which is part of the scrap friends challenges as well as the awesome sketch challenge at Let's Capture our Memories and the current challenge at Scrap our Stash, which was to use 5 (enamel dots), 4 (patterned papers), 3 (stickers), 2 (photo frames) and 1 rub-on.

I also created this layout in record time! It just seemed to come together so quickly! It is a Steal from the Saturday challenge at My Scraps & More and I was also inspired by the challenge at Twisted Tuesdays to use washi tape AND something on my page that started with one of the letters in the word "tape". I used enamel dots!

Thanks for looking!!

Snow Day Playing...

...with paper, NOT snow! It is way too cold outside to be doing any kind of playing out there but I have had a great time inside playing along with some fun challenges!! The other day I stumbled across a blog post about the challenges of the "scrap friends" so I went and checked it out. So Fun!!! I created this layout based upon the sketch on Brenda's blog, used the word "celebrate" as part of my title for
Kristi's word challenge and used the diagonal row (flowers, mini alphas and Mist) from Rochelle's
tic-tac-toe challenge. I also incorporated My Scraps & More's 1/16 Thursday Throwback challenge of using a large circle, Southern girls Challenge blog plus SnC's New Year challenge! Wheew...that's a lot of challenges in one little 'ole layout!! LOVE it!!

no more Teachers... no more Books!

I finally played with one of the mini collections from October Afternoon's Daily Flash Vol. 1, Milk Money! I used one of the patterned papers and cut out the books and lined them up at the bottom of my page. This page worked perfectly for the Mix it Up Monday challenge at My Scraps & More which was to have "3 of 3" on your layout. My three are 3 different patterned papers, 3 enamel dots and 3 die cuts!! Challenges always make scrappin' that much more fun for me!

I also used a fun sketch from a great scrapbook group that I am a part of. Love when pages come together so easily!!!

Enjoy your day!

Hello friend...

My daughter Taylor, and her friend Amanda have been great friends since kindergarten. They are now both out of high school and starting their own lives. I hope that their friendship lasts a lifetime!!! For this page I used the Pebbles "From Me to You" collection. I just LOVE the colors in it. If you are a card make then this line is a must!! Such cute, cute embellishments to go along with it that would make awesome cards. Too bad I don't make cards :/  I created my layout based on this fun sketch that I found over at Stuck? Sketches...

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I have been up too. Now off to go play with some more paper...

Baby... it's cold outside!!

Luckily though, there is no snow, but it is freezing!!! Well, after the two hour delay followed by a bomb threat and waiting out in the cold for over an hour to find my son (true story - so scary!!) I got a little time to scrap!! I play along with a scrapbook challenge called "Mad Dash" in which you were challenged to create a layout in 60 minutes or less! Things were flyin' everywhere I tell ya but I did get to create this page...

It is not my best by any means, but not too bad for being in a hurry!!!! I was also inspired by the fun challenges they post on the site 1 2 3 Get Scrappy! I love tic tac toe scrap challenges and they do that every month! How fun!! They are also having a design team call so go and check them out here!!

Have a great Friday!!

Dad's House

It has been 1 1/2 years since he has been gone yet sometimes...it feels like yesterday. My Dad was my everything! I was his only daughter so I was the typical Daddy's girl. After I grew up and had my own family, we weren't as close or we didn't see each other often but I knew, just ALWAYS knew, that my Dad was there! I miss his voice, his hugs, his talks, just everything! I don't think it really ever gets easier losing someone, you just learn how to deal with it better. I have had this picture in my stack to scrap since the summer he passed away. I took it of his place as I left town. I want to always remember it the way it was when it was his.

Best Day Ever!!

Do you ever buy a collection...LOVE it...but then completely forget about it until you pull it out and LOVE it all over again??!! That is exactly what happened to me with the Simple Stories 24/7 collection. When it came out I knew that I loved it right away and am pretty sure that I made a couple layouts with it. That was awhile ago though and I had totally forgot about it until this weekend when I was looking for a good line to scrap a couple photos from my son's birthday sleepover party. I stumbled across 24/7 and knew it would work perfectly!! I love it all over again!!

(layout based on sketch at Let's Get Sketchy)

I also played along with the Let's Get Sketchy Cover Girl contest and created this page based on one of their two choices...

This one was such fun to create!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

A Little Spookiness in January??

Not really spooky but I am talking Halloween!! I recently created this fun page of two of my grandkids (yes...I am a YOUNG Grandma) posing with some masks on. I thought that the Bella Blvd Trick or Treat collection worked great! Especially the "Owloween" paper!!!

I designed the page after a sketch I created for the My Scraps & More sketch blog.

If you get a chance to play along with the sketch, link me up in the comments! I would love to see your pages!!!

Branching Out...

Now that I have sold My Scraps & More, I am wanting to branch out a little into the scrappy world. Although I am still going to be a very active part of My Scraps, I thought it would be great to be a part of some other teams and challenge blogs. I stumbled upon Colorful Creations a few months ago and have been lurking there from time to time. When I saw that they put a design team call out, I thought I would give it a go! I love to participate in challenges as they really motivate me to scrap. Also, this call included creating a layout for a sketch which is my favorite type of challenge!! Here is the fun sketch that I got to work with...

I chose to use some great products from Crate Papers Maggie Holmes collections for my page...

I also was motivated to create this page by the current Free for All Friday challenge on the My Scraps board. The challenge was to include three different fonts on your layout...check!!

Have a happy Friday and a wonderful scrap filled weekend!!!

Tough Boy

Football has always been my favorite sport to watch! I grew up in Nebraska where "Husker Football" is a way of life. Most everyone is either at the game or glued to the television on game days. With two boys I thought maybe I would have a chance of one of them liking the game. My oldest has never been interested in football whatsoever but my youngest, Connor, he loves it! He can recite statistics like  nobodies business! (if only he could memorize his homework the same way!lol) And on teams and players I have never heard of...its crazy!!! Last year he decided he wanted to try playing the game and what fun we ALL had... us watching and him playing! I took a ton of pictures but chose just a few to highlight his jersey number on this layout using an older Echo Park collection and a sketch by Scrapbook Generation...

I also created this page for the 1/2/14 Throwback Thursday challenge on the My Scraps & More forums. Come over and play with us!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Embrace...my OLW

**My Scraps & More Blog Hop here**

I have normally not gotten into the OLW (one little word) craze each year but one of the design team members at My Scraps offered up the challenge of creating a page highlighting "your word" so this is what I came up with!

This year I want to EMBRACE

 - my kids and make each moment count!
 - my marriage! Changes are coming in our daily life and I want to EMBRACE those and cherish
   our time together
 - all of the little everyday things I take for granted
 - change. I am not so good with it but I want to EMBRACE the changes that  are coming and make
it all work out for the best

Do you have a OLW ? If so, please link me up. I would love to be inspired by you!!

I will announce a winner January 10th!!
